About the Presenters

Jonathan A. Bernstein, M.D. FACP, CCI
Professor of Clinical Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, University of Cincinnati Medical Center
Dr. Jonathan A. Bernstein, the ACAAI program advisor for HAE: Learn About It, Talk About It, is a Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Immunology/Allergy Section, at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, and Director of Clinical Research for the Division of Immunology. He also is a partner at the Bernstein Allergy Group/Clinical Research Center. He received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, and then completed his residence in Internal Medicine at the Cleveland Clinical Foundation and his Fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Northwestern University.
Dr. Bernstein is board certified in Internal Medicine and Allergy/Immunology. His clinical interests are in chronic rhinitis subtypes, asthma, environmental control of chronic rhinitis and asthma, indoor and outdoor air quality, occupational asthma, drug hypersensitivity, chronic urticaria, hereditary and idiopathic angioedema, and chronic dermatitis/eczematous disorders.
Dr. Bernstein has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles, clinical reviews and chapters on a variety of allergic disease topics. In addition to being the Editor in Chief of the Journal of Asthma, he is also involved in professional societies including the American College of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology (ACAAI), the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy & Immunology, the American Thoracic Society, the American College of Chest Physicians, and the Cincinnati Allergy Society.

William J. Tremiane, M.D.
Professor of Medicine, Department of Gastroenterology, Mayo Clinic
Dr. William Tremaine, the AGA program advisor for HAE: Learn About It, Talk About It, is a Professor of Medicine in the Department of Gastroenterology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and board certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. Dr. Tremaine received his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School Of Medicine and completed his residency and fellowship in gastroenterology at the Mayo Clinic.
During his 29 years on staff at the Mayo Clinic, Dr. Tremaine has held several notable positions, including Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Interest Group, Head of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Clinic and Director of the Mayo Clinic Office of Human Research Protection.
Dr. Tremaine’s interests include the clinical aspects of inflammatory bowel disease, including ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, ileal pouchitis, and microscopic colitis. He is also interested in the natural history, epidemiology, and ethical aspects of research and therapy of these diseases.
Dr. Tremaine has been published extensively in many renowned medical journals and is involved in professional societies including the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), the American Medical Association, The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, and the American College of Gastroenterology.
